The Power of Music

For the very few people who know me, you will know that I am a big Usher fan. Since his mega hit "You Make Me Wanna" couple years back, I just thought he was a young entertainer with a lot of potential. He has certainly grown into a hottie! Again, the few who know me, know that ever since I became an internet music download junkie, I have ceased to purchase original albums {(with the exception of Madonna of course :)}.

My best purchase since the beginning of this year has to be Usher's Confessions album. I listened to his album from beginning to end and enjoyed every moment of it. It speaks true of so many men in the world right now, and whether what he sings about is just because that's what people want to hear or as the album suggests, his confessions about occurences in his life, it makes for good listening. He really has grown as an artist in my eyes and is a wonderful performer as well ... I mean, he does have some streaks of talent compared to the great Michael Jackson ... even if by imitation. The content of his album speaks of infidelity, admitting to wrong-doing, wanting to make up for it, regretting decisions made. How many men in this decade are willing to put themselves out there like that? The whole issue of creeping and keeping things on the down low has been so rampant in almost every aspect of life, whether it is that you are involved with somebody else's man/husband/wife/woman for either sex, keeping things on the DL is the order of the day.

Gosh ... it only makes one wonder, for those who haven't found that special someone, that happiness one can only have when being in love, is there hope for them?

As a hopeless romantic (for the extremely few who know this side of me), I believe that there is someone for everyone. Sometimes we are too docile to go after with good reason, what we want. No, that doesn't include wrecking someone else's home whether it is happy or not, but people need to stand for virtue in this corrupt world.

Am I making any sense here?????

It's Over!

Wow! A week flies by so quickly when you're having fun! I can't believe that my week's vacation is already over. I came back to work and it was like I never left. Worked almost 5 hours in overtime in the week I've returned to work already and just now getting a chance to publish thoughts... though not much.

Insurance Companies ... UGH!

Everyone is required by law to pay Car Insurance. Without it, you would be breaking the law and be the victim of endless harassment by the police. Anyone who drives here knows how much of a stress it can be when the police stop you for a spot check and "yu papers nuh strait".

Well, a law abiding citizen like myself has become the victim of the system and the scum of the earth that make up our society. For anyone who remembers the accident I met in in January, for those who saw the pictures would see that there was no way I was at fault. Well, thanks to insurance companies and their constant ploy of milking our pockets of our hard earned money, I was found to be at fault in my accident. Yes, it was a shock to me. I expressed my disgust at the system and the fact that I now will have to pay double ... YES, DOUBLE my premium next month because the assholes lied on their statement to the police and the insurance company. I was so pissed I could scream! EEEEEKKKKK! There, yes, I had to let it out.

It is another realization that the things that are necessary to get by in Jamaica, insurance, drivers licence, passports (don't even let me tell you the story about that one) are the hardest to get done. The bureaucratic red tape and formalities that one has to go through is the source of frustration to everyone who lives here. When will the systems realize that is because of this unnecessary stress that promotes the all too familiar "bandooloo" systems that are almost the life blood of our society. All you have to do is know someone, "have di links" as we call it just to get by with the necessities of life.

No wonder our country can get no better.

The Unbearable Heat

Well, for anyone who thought that Jamaica has "neither summer nor winter, neither autumn or spring" ... think again!

This has been one of the hottest weeks I've ever experienced. I mean, HOT, sweat dripping, sweat running down my legs hot!! This is the only thing that made me wish I was at work in the comfort of Air Conditioning. The heat is almost unbearable. Fortunately for me, I am not a lover of clothes so I just strut my stuff, hope the perverted neighbours aren't watching and thinking I'm trying to get them to notice me. Trust me, that ain't it at all. So much for the civilized world. My biggest decision right now is ... Do I buy an AC?

Vacation Finally

Yeah, I finally made the decision to cut the crap and take this vacation already. Having put it off for over a month now, I just decided that if I don't take it now, I won't ever take it. One can't just keep working and working and working like that. That cannot be the entire purpose of one's existence. So, enough already of the wonderful job that pays my bills and entertainment expenses! Now, it's just lazy days. It is such a joy not having to get up early ... and fake the smiles at work with all the undesirables you call coworkers.

What Bliss! More time.

Patience Is A Virtue

Having discovered this wonderful idea through a friend, I decided to take up the challange and see if I have what it takes to host a blog ... where everyone who I decide to let in can see my innermost thought, know my deepest feelings and decide how to react to it. Not so sure if this is a good idea ... but I'll know in a little while. Patience Is A Virtue. Only Time will tell.
