Battle (Round 1)

I began my gym regimen again yesterday. If I was a quitter, I would resolve that I was not meant to lose weight since everytime I begin a program with this goal in mind something happens - 1st my car accident, then medical reasons, then Hurricane Ivan. This is my 4th attempt and I pray that nothing will happen this time to cause me to stop in the middle of my program.

I am also following my nutritional plan to a tee ... that means no more junk food for me, no more rice, no more white flour - strictly whole wheat, no more dairy, no cheese, no mayonnaise - seriously!!! This has eliminated almost every aspect of all the things I love to eat so much. But if yu waan good, yu nose haffi run. So as of yesterday, I have gone on the plan. I'm doing well so far but I just could not pass up cream cheese on my whole wheat toast today. Have I started cheating already? Cream Cheese doesn't have half the calories of regular cheese right??? Or am I just rationalizing here.

I promise to keep you all up to date on my progress as this is a journey for me and will need all the support I can get. I know I can count on you ...

I need to follow your lead but....I'll spare the excuses. I have had a chronic back problem for over a year now. My weight has to be maintained or else the agony is real. When the doc listed the can't haves I asked what's left? I haven't done too badly but still need to ditch 10lbs more.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. A good nutrition plan is the key to success. A lot of people think it is exercise. I can guarantee people can lose weight with just sensible portion control.

Snacking in the evening is my downfall. The best weight lost program I ever heard of is: if it taste good, spit it out. If your don't hurt, exercise more.

Seriously, as you start to see results, it gets easer to stay on the plan. Remember, we are here for you.

Hope your ears are better.

*Hugs*

My ears are getting there. I can hear better now since I've been using the drops.

Scratchie, I suffer from back and knee problems but I have always made that known up front so I do exercises that will help to strengthen these areas (well, my knee at least) ... the back I'm much more careful with. I'm hanging in there though.

I love dry whole wheat toast!! I guess I'm one of the weird ones. I have a stack of whole wheat biscuits in my draw at work as well ... trust me - no cheese, no butter, no pasta :'( but I'm going on well with my veggies and fish! I hardly have time to cook but whenever I do get a chance, I'll definitely try some of those recipes! Bring it on!
